Second Life

The real skin avatar was really creepy looking.  When I put it on, I look so cartoony and stylized, but I feel that it came out nice and realistic.  Maybe except for the lips, I have huge lips...I couldn't find a lot of clothes that suited my sense of style on second life nor could I find decent clothing tutorials, so I ended up duking out the money to pay for a decent outfit.  Also, after hours of harassing Mason to send me his glasses I actually bit the bullet and paid for a pair as well.  If there's anything that I really took out of this part of the project, it was being able to take given items and modifying them.  I made my real self avatar to be the same height as myself.  When I tried to make it the same body size, the clothes were one size fits small.  But the likeliness is close.  I didn't take the consideration of making the neck color the same as the face so it looks a little odd as well.

The first thing that I actually built was a Deadmau5 helmet.  Lately I've been grroving to Deadmau5 and Daft Punk while working on any of my projects at work or school. so I wanted to make something inspired by them.  When I made Deadmau5, I didn't know how to style it.  I then remembered Lord Canti.  Lord Canti is a character from an anime called FLCL.  He's a robotic alien and has many forms.  I really like how my fem version of Lord Canti came out.  I would have liked to make a robotic body, but again I didn't understand the concept of making clothes.  For the outfit itself, I just decided that something really cute and girly would really suit the character that I wanted to go for.  She's still very elegant and cute in a way, but still has that sci-fi feel to her.One day I hope to hollow out my own little computer screen and create this cool little number.
