Manovich Discussion Questions

Question #1
"All classical, and even moreso modern, art is 'interactive' in a number of ways."
-Manovich

The term "interactive" seems to have taken on different interpretations over the years.  Because technology has advanced, most electronic devices can be considered "interactive".  When I think of interacting with an art piece, it's not looking at a painting and trying to put myself as the subject.  When I interact with art, I expect to touch and feel like I'm actually part of the piece.  That I'm actually contributing and being "interactive".  Is the term "interactive" different for everyone?  Or has the term "interactive" taken on a whole new meaning?

Question #2
"An image file can be copied endlessly, and the copy is distinguishable from the original by its date since there is not loss of quality."
-Mitchell

Most artist strive to be original, but because the internet is so vast, it's easy to lose track of an original source. Anyone can pretend to be someone else on the internet, a good example of this would be Second Life or any avatar based platform.  Since, programs like Photoshop have been created anyone willing to learn the programs can easily strip off watermarks and claim art/ideas as their own.  Going off the basis of the last question, could the term "quality" also take on a whole new meaning?
